After last week’s break in Martha’s Vineyard, we are back and full on live from our HollyShorts Film Festival first weekend. It’s a big weekend of cinema and music. This week we have a very special mix from QT-HIGH. HollyShorts is honoring Deep Root Tribe and founder Ajamu Kambon with the Afro House Label Maverick Award next week. What better way to celebrate than to have one of the label’s incredible artists with an exclusive guest mix? QT-HIGH, aka Salvador Rizo, is a boundary-pushing multi-faceted producer from Veracruz, Mexico. His track ‘Turbulence’, released via Erick Morillo’s imprint Sondos, reached the top 10 of multiple charts on Traxsource, a digital store made by DJs for DJs. The track even peaked at #3 for the platform’s official Tech Essentials chart. Its follow-up, ‘Percussive’ was featured on Erick Morillo’s Subliminal Summer Sessions 2019 compilation album, and his record ‘Down To The Underground’ has been gaining traction on Deep Root Records.

His debut to Deep Root Underground, the ‘Nibiru EP,’ has garnered half a million streams, with his release ‘Penna’ steadily creeping behind. He remixed ‘Stargazing’ by Nicky Romero and Leo Stannard, released on Protocol Recordings.

These days, QT-HIGH is moving more into melodic and afrohouse, working closer with Deep Root Tribe in collaboration with artists like Kasango, Fo-Dosh, Ryan Murgatroyd, AVÖ, and Arymé.
